Davy Crockett Suite, a large 2 room downstairs suite in the Independence House, a Greek Revival home, circa 1836. Built by Dr. George Red, one of the first physicians to settle in Texas, using pine and cedar from trees on his homestead. Decorated in rich earth tones. Ceilings boast the original rough-cut exposed cedar beams. Large bedroom with antique brass bed and fireplace. Separate sitting room with trundle bed (makes into 2 twins), a second fireplace and sitting area. Large bath with antique claw-foot tub with shower. TV/VCR, small refrigerator, coffee en suite.
